This project is an abstract portrait series showcasing my friend from Sweden, Anton. I wanted to create a narrative centered around the inherent narcissism in the art of fashion. To love fashion is to love one's self and to be able to interact with art in a physical way is a very special thing. I dressed Anton up and paired him with a headless mannequin to embrace in the photos to represent material or artificial love. I used a heavy grain filter to give it a vintage texture and high saturation to introduce a corrosive stylization. My inspiration came from urban streetwear and skateboarding fashion. This portrait series is like the Yin to my Yang of the previous portrait series featuring my mother. A little darkness balances the light just right.
